CCCB – Your cruise starts here. And we are at your service!
This is the pledge we made to our customers at the start of the season!
Everybody pulled together and we were successful in sending off a total of 230,000 cruise passengers safely with all their luggage.
On 111 occasions, vessels were moored, provisions loaded, suitcases unloaded and sorted for collection at our baggage reclaim in the terminal. Most voyages left from Bremerhaven for destinations in the Baltic, Great Britain or Norway. This was also reflected in the numbers of suitcases we handled, with our ground floor sometimes looking like a sea of luggage. We always made sure that passengers could pick up their baggage quickly before setting off home happily.
And passengers arriving were also given a friendly reception at our parking areas, the bus terminal or at Bremerhaven’s central train station.
Our special focus this year was on baggage check-in and our car parking facilities, which proved to be the right strategy! Every guest was able to choose the parking package which best suited his/her requirements, with the option of pre-booking or using our luggage collection service directly from the vehicle.
Service and Safety!
Service quality was once again our centre of attention at CCCB. Every day we are faced with the special challenge of supporting every passenger with advice and personal assistance and making sure that he/she feels safe and secure at all times.
CCCB is glad to do this and it pays dividends!
Port security is always given special attention because of the huge significance it has for the safety of our passengers. For that reason, we are especially proud that we passed again the “Crosscheck” inspection carried out by the security authorities this year.
Besides all the familiar vessels, we were also happy to welcome some new faces to the Columbus Quay this year: Costa Mediterranea, Seabourn Ovation, Mein Schiff 1, Azamara Journey and Marella Discovery.
At the Plaque & Key Ceremonies we all had enough time to get to know each other and we are already looking forward to seeing them all again.
Four at the same time!
Another highlight this season was unquestionably the simultaneous berthing of four vessels of the Phoenix Tours fleet. The quartet of cruise liners comprising “Amadea”, “Albatros”, “Artania” and “Deutschland” were all in the home port of Bremerhaven for their thirty-year anniversary. We are highly appreciative of so much customer loyalty and extremely grateful for the many years of good cooperation. The departure of the vessels after such a busy day was a particularly emotional occasion. The white swans sailed off from the pier one after another to a musical accompaniment and the waves of the Phoenix Tours team from Bonn, CCCB staff members as well as the many spectators who had come along to witness this event from our visitors’ gallery.
Preview of 2019
The Columbus Cruise Center Bremerhaven, the gateway for cruise passengers, will open its doors once again in 2019. Under our motto of “easy arrival, great departure” we are expecting about 260.000 passengers. As in previous years, we are looking forward to another positive development. About 120 cruise vessels have already announced their arrivals. The season will start on 4.5.2019. We are expecting various multiple berthings and we are already excited about our next meeting with the Phoenix Tours fleet. We are particularly looking forward to welcoming our new customer AIDA Cruises, who will entrust their cruise vessel AIDAcara to us on a total of four occasions.
The schedule for 2019 will be published in December. At the same time it will also be made available on our website at www.cruiseport.de.
